Weekends, party, whoops and makes

This weekend has seen me and J at a surprise 40th birthday party, (pic of me ready for the house party).  The whoops bit of my weekend regards the Pic of the in pieces mobile phone.  ( so I am currently without a mobile talk about a return to the 90's).  My mobile phone met its watery fate when I accidentally knocked a full cup of blackcurrent over it I then went to grab a sewing needle to ping off back of it and release my battery and sim card.  Unfortunately the sewing needle pinged off instead and I'm still yet to find it?????? I've looked everywhere but it has disappeared into thin air it seems.

Lastly I have been making away (pic of bookmark) I've been making jewellery and scarf's for my shop and I am looking into doing a craft fair, I have also been making special teacher bookmarks ready to list for the end of summer term.  I'm now currently taking orders for these so if you'd like one please go to;

Payments through PayPal.

Hope your having fun in the sun!

Right I best go think of the best way to dry my phone out and hope it works afterward.

Have fun Dawn x

Brass monkeys in southport

Well hello,

Yesterday saw us in Southport a mooch round the shops, which proved to be disappointing to be honest.  The high street was decimated and the artisan type shops seemed to have gone as well, it's all really sad to see, the place was like a ghost town.

Vintage gifts

Do you ever have one of those days of normalness, a day spent doing normal everyday tasks?  We have had a mixed day of fun,  we have had a visit from granny and grandad who gifted us vintage Lego circa 1984 onwards and a vintage suitcase circa 1960's full of dressing up outfits for the kids.  My dad   (2 grandads is very confusing) is also round at our house today helping us out by fixing a few things for us whilst we keep the coffee flowing.

Other than a quick bob to Aldi for fresh stuff (not sure when fresh stuff began to include a shower head and shower curtain but there you go lol)

A normal sort of day really, a house full of people who care about us and likewise.

Ah well the kids are ensconced making castles etc out of lego, I'm  snuggled up on the sofa, plugged into the radio cracking on with making a scarf for myself for once.

Have fun

Rainy days and Mondays

Hello, today is a bit of a washout really, above is a photo of my work in progress the half cleared yard and as you can see it is chucking it down.  I had a few phone calls to make today to doctors, dentist etc and my last one was the chiropodist who had a cancellation so I managed to get an appointment for 2 hrs later.

I've had the rest of my problem nail removed now, so at least I cannot bang it again.  (I bet you glad I chose the rainy back yard photo rather than a manky toe one aren't you lol)

Today now involves tea, chocolate biscuits and knitting on my comfy sofa as I get over my ordeal.  I'm just hoping it won't be sore tomorrow and that it's fine for my long day of walking on Wednesday as were off to Southport yay for a mooch round the shops, the kids favourites the 2p machines in the games arcade and a stroll down the prom clutching an ice cream and no trip to Southport would be complete without making sandcastles, candy floss and fresh hot donuts for eating on the way home!

Have fun

Its stopped raining, quick everybody lets plant

Yesterday saw burnout for me and a cracking headache, it is the come down after continuously being on the go, I even had to have a nanna nap in the afternoon to get shot of the headache.

Today is a totally different story I'm full of energy much the annoyance of a slightly hungover J.  By 9am I had the 1st load of washing on, myself and three children up, fed, bathed and dressed and one bed already stripped ready for the washer.  We bought some seeds a few weeks back and have just been waiting for the right time to plant them.  The kids each chose different flowers and J chose 2 chilli plants.  Shown above is three happy ladies who wanted to share their planting with you.  It doesn't look to sparkling out there today but we have started to sort out the back yard.

Our aim is to line the outside of the yard with pretty flowers (as well as herbs and a strawberry plant in pots) and then the kids have the biggest space possible in which they can play (we're hoping for a nice summer).

We have moved pots, brushed out the yard and found what we think is the cause of a damp problem in our kitchen and removed it all.  I then attacked the moss covered flag stones with boiling water and washing powder mixed and a yard brush.  Right now I feel epic but I reckon tomorrow I will feel the pain from my hard graft lol.

During the clean up we came across;  snails, woodlice, an ants nest( now evicted) spiders (eek) and worms plus foul smelling water that J spilled over his foot ( he wasn't impressed).

Anyway washers finished now so need empty and refill it again.

Happy spring people!
